Shelby Garay is a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and graduate of the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy (FMCA). As a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, she studied Biochemistry and Business Management, later studying for her Master’s in Psychology at Concordia University in Chicago, IL. Prior to studying Functional Medicine, Positive Psychology and Mind Body Medicine throughout FMCA, Shelby had a successful 10-year career in corporate human resources with Fortune 500 companies, while maintaining her lifelong passion for health & wellness.
Shelby is thrilled to work as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach to help clients achieve their optimal health, as it marries her enduring zeal for health & wellness, nutrition, medicine, psychology, exercise/movement, mindfulness, and counseling. In addition to helping individuals with varying health challenges, she has a special interest in digestive/microbiome health, alternative cancer treatments, mental health, and autism.
Shelby is passionate about bringing together healthcare practitioners in Orange County who are either practicing or interested in Functional Medicine. By meeting monthly as part of the Functional Forum, we can learn from and support each other, while growing our practices and educating our communities about Functional Medicine as the foremost means to achieving optimal health.
