February 2017 Functional Forum Meetup Evolution of Psychiatry
The Evolution of Medicine is thrilled to announce a new theme for our Functional Forums in 2017. Each monthly episode will focus on a different medical specialty and connect the value of a functional medicine approach to its evolution. This comes at a time where use of specialists is becoming an ever more costly drag on medical systems worldwide.
Each Forum will provide practitioners from all walks of medicine, not only Primary Care and Family Medicine, but all the integrative professions, with the clinical keys and practical emerging models to deliver truly effective predictive, preventive and participatory medicine.
With our unprecedented global meetup infrastructure, we will also seek to create new relationships locally between current specialists and with integrative providers in order to stimulate the creation of the specialty centers of the future.
For our next 2017 episode, we’ll be revisiting one of our most popular topics on the Functional Forum, the future of mental health care. We are excited to feature two psychiatrists scaling, through their "Psychiatry Masterclass", a training program, root cause based psychiatry to millions of Americans. Janet Settle, MD and Will Van Derveer, MD will present on the fundamentals of integrative psychiatry.
Returning to the Functional Forum stage for her first keynote is Thyroid Pharmacist Dr. Izabella Wentz, as she looks at the connection between thyroid heath and depression, looking at proven protocols to unwind the underlying cause of an increasingly common dysfunction.
We will also take a virtual tour of Dr. Scott Shannon's integrative clinic, a model for the future of mental health.
