Meet Your Hosts:
Julie is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified Health Coach and Exercise/Yoga instructor, who leads workshops on Functional Nutrition and Wellness for Willis Knighton Health Systems, as well as sees clients in a private practice setting. She has over 20 years experience in the area of wellness and enjoys working with individuals, groups and corporate organizations. She received her training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in Nutrition and completed exercise certification from The Cooper Institute in Dallas. She is certified by the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Nutrition as well as certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Julie enjoys helping people find a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits their unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
Amanda is a Registered and License Dietitian and Certified Lifestyle Eating and Performance (LEAP) Therapist in private practice in Shreveport, LA. She specializes in a functional nutrition approach to inflammatory and autoimmune disorders but enjoys working with all medical nutrition therapy clients who are ready to take charge of their own nutritional health. She believes that nutrition is the tap root of the functional medicine tree. She personally understands the battle (& emotional consequences) that many clients have faced with traditional medicine due to her own battles with fibromyalgia and ADD; and as a single mom of two teenagers, she understands the struggles that ‘life’ can throw in our path. Therefore, she is committed to forming a lasting partnership with each client and supporting them each step of the way. She loves to learn and is constantly researching and studying to bring more services into her practice—from knowledge & certifications to technology & functional medicine testing services. Her
company logo is the Gordian knot—a symbol from Greek mythology that means solving a very complicated problem by taking bold action.
Amanda and Julie have been colleagues for twenty years and are both extremely excited and committed to help bring the functional medicine movement to the northern Louisiana, east Texas, southern Arkansas, and western Mississippi area!
